Compton Beach

Compton Bay

Compton Beach (Compton Bay) is on the dramatic West coast of the Isle of Wight and is one of the many excellent bay and beaches between Freshwater and Niton Undercliff. Compton Beach enjoys wonderful views of the cliffs at Freshwater Bay.

Compton Beach is a mix of sand and shingle. There is a gently sloping beach and the water is good for paddling. You will often have to walk into the water a little way before it is deep enough to swim. The beach is popular with surfers and paddle boarders. There are occasional weather conditions which make the surf very good along this coast.

A large car park is located next to the beach. Here there is often an ice cream van which also sells cold drinks.
